Secondary Art

At North Star 180, our art curriculum is carefully designed to engage, inspire, and challenge students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to experiment, invent, and create their own works of art, craft, and design.

At North Star 180°, we believe that art is a form of expression.

At North Star 180 students explore a diverse range of traditional and contemporary Artists, Craftspeople and Designers, exploring their curiosity and understanding of the world around them. Students’ experiences will enable them to develop an appreciation of how art can shape and define different cultures, historic and global events.

In each Art theme, students’ will explore a variety of techniques and skills that will enable them to develop their own creativity and practical skills that will allow them to express ideas and feelings, record observations and design ideas. Every Art project, students will develop key skills such as line, shape, texture, form, space, colour and value, through exploring a variety of art processes and techniques such as clay, drawing, carving, printing and painting.
