Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care throughout The Woodway Federation

Pastoral Care is at the heart of school life at The Woodway federation, working in the background to support students to reach their full potential educationally, physically, mentally and socially.

We want all students that attend the Woodway Federation to feel valued and secure at school.

Tutors/Teachers play a big part in a supportive role meeting with students at the start and end of their day at their designated tutor base.

Tutors/Teachers will often be your first point of contact to discuss how your child is getting on.

Tutors/Teachers also work in partnership with Link workers and Learning Mentors

The role of Link worker/Mentor throughout the federation is a changing role to meet the needs of students, parents/carers, working closely with our SENCo team ( consisting of Lucas Wellington, Danni Richards and Julie Pester) and multi-agency groups to enhance quality in service.

This includes working both on and off site with students that have a barrier to learning.

Julie Pester is our Parent Support and Attendance Manager for the federation and available to work in partnership with families, parents, carers, pupils and other agencies in a school context to enable all pupils to have full access to educational opportunities and overcome barriers to their learning and participation. Julie Pester works in partnership with families, parents, carers, pupils and other agencies to assist the Federations strategic leadership to help improve pupil attendance and punctuality. Please contact Julie if you have any queries about attendance or think you may need additional support.
